Samina Chowdhury is a well-known Bangladeshi singer who mainly associated with the classical song. She is the daughter of legendary singer Mahmudunnabi and sister of singer Fahmida Nabi. The talented singer won the heart of listeners by her wonderful singing quality. Samina was a judge of the reality TV show CloseUp1 on NTV. Now, she is a familiar face in the showbiz arena of Bangladesh.
Samina Chowdhury was born on August 28, 1966, in Dinajpur, Bangladesh. Born in a music-loving family where her father, sister, and brother are associated with the field. Her sister Fahmida Nabi is a leading female singer in the country and brother Pancham is also a musician. She was so much passionate about music arena at early childhood as the father was a country leading musician. In 1977, Samina participated in the Notun Kuri song category and stood first in this competition.
Samina Chowdhury kicked off the journey in the music arena as a playback singer in 1981. Her debutant song was historical track ‘Jonmo Theke Jolchi Mago’ for the movie same title. Samina comes to the timeline around the showbiz industry when gave her voice in the song ‘Saat Bhai Champa Jagore’ for the movie ‘Saat Bhai Champa’, the track still popular to the audience.
She took a short hiatus from the playback singing concentrating on audio industry eventually released several music albums such as Porar Prohor Eseche, Oi Jhinuk Phota Sagorbelay, and Ekbar Jodi Keu Bhalobasto. Samina returned into the playback singing with the song ‘Tomar Gorur Garite Ami Jabo Na’ a duet with famous singer Andrew Kishore. In her career time, she collaborated with many well-known singers of the country such as Asif Akbar, Habib Wahid, Subir Nandi, and Andrew Kishore.
